Welcome to Rich Valley, Alberta

Rich Valley is a small rural community in Lac Ste. Anne County, located about 80 km Northwest of Edmonton.

Our arena and ag grounds host local sports teams and community events, and are also available for rentals.

Our History

The Rich Valley Ag Society was established on August 30, 1974 and over the next four years, the Rich Valley Agriplex was constructed.

The grand opening of the facility was held on December 1, 1978 with over 300 guests in attendance.

Over the following decades the Rich Valley Arena has been a vital part of the community.

All ages of hockey teams made use of the facility, and multiple generations of families learned to skate within it's walls.

In the summer, the Rich Valley Ag Society hosted an Annual Agricultural Fair for 42 years.

The grounds also host many other sports teams, and countless dances and celebrations have been held within the Rich Valley Arena.

Our Community

We may be small, but our community spirit is huge!

The Rich Valley Ag Society relies on volunteers to organize events, participate in our fundraiser efforts, and keep our community running!

Over our 40+ history, we have been very fortunate to have a lot of support from our community members and have many different families and individuals volunteer their time for our organization.

Our Ag Society board meets regularly to plan events and make decisions supporting the future of our facility and society. We are always open to new members and volunteers.

If you would like to join the RVAS, or volunteer to be on the RVAS board, please contact us or check our events calendar and attend our next meeting.

Every setback is a chance to come back stronger than ever.

In the Fall of 2018 we experienced a catastrophic failure in our ice chiller. Despite our best efforts to get up and running again, we were unable to fix the problem - and a replacement chiller was out of our budget - so we were forced to shutdown our hockey and skating programs for the 2018/19 season.

We turned to our local community for support, and began the daunting task of raising funds to get our kids back on the ice!

In March 2019 our fundraising efforts were given a huge boost when we were selected as one for 4 finalist for Kraft Hockeyville Canada. We didn't come out on top, but the show of support from our community and surrounding towns was a huge win!

We continued our fundraising efforts, and were also grateful to receive some generous donations from local businesses, and we are excited to say that we will BE BACK ON THE ICE in October 2019.
